Katelyn Fowler
Living in her small hometown in Kentucky with her husband and dog, R2, Fowler is deeply connected to her community. She works as a Prevention Science Evaluation Coordinator at a West Virginia university and teaches for the Master of Social Work program as an Adjunct Professor, integrating Appalachian identity into her research and coursework. In addition, her work as a choreographer and director for local dance studios and community theater productions, as well as her nearly 15 years of experience as a stage manager, helped her to embrace Appalachian culture through artistic expression. Fowler’s work is driven by a deep commitment to social justice and empowerment within the context of the Appalachian identity, bridging the worlds of science and art to create a meaningful impact in her community.
